Steps

Step 1 – Open the Brochures Digital Gloss Product
  1. Navigate to Settings > Products.
  2. Locate the Brochures Digital Gloss golden product.
  3. Open the product to access its configuration.

You will see two primary tabs:

  • Configure Pricing
  • Check Pricing

The Configure Pricing tab is where the product is built and maintained, while Check Pricing allows you to test and verify pricing results.

Step 2 – Review the Grid Configuration
  1. Select the Configure Pricing tab.
  2. Review the product's pricing structure.

This product uses the Grid Pricing UI, which functions similarly to a spreadsheet.

Within the grid, you can configure:

  • Cost values
  • Selling prices
  • Quantity tiers
  • Product variations

The grid allows pricing data to be organized into rows, columns, and tabs.

Step 3 – Configure Cost and Selling Price Columns
  1. Locate the Show Cost Columns option.
  2. Enable it if you want to track internal costs.
  3. Review the Unit Price column.

The columns serve two different purposes:

  • Cost Columns = Internal production cost information.
  • Unit Price Columns = Selling price presented to customers.

This allows you to maintain profitability while keeping customer pricing standardized.

Step 4 – Understand Set-Based Pricing
  1. Review the quantity options configured within the grid.
  2. Notice that this product is sold in sets rather than quantity breakpoints.

Example set quantities:

  • 100
  • 250
  • 500
  • 1,000

In this configuration:

  • Each quantity represents a fixed set.
  • Pricing is assigned directly to each set size.
  • The system is not calculating pricing using quantity ranges.
Step 5 – Understand Quantity Breakpoints
  1. Compare the current setup to a breakpoint-based grid.

If quantity breakpoints were enabled, pricing would be structured as ranges such as:

  • 1–100
  • 101–250
  • 251–500
  • 501–1,000

Because this brochure product uses set quantities, breakpoint ranges are not required.

This simplifies product maintenance when brochure pricing is sold as package quantities.

Step 6 – Understand the 3D Grid Structure
  1. Review the organization of the grid.
  2. Identify the three dimensions used for pricing.

This product uses a 3D Grid, which contains three data points:

  • Rows = Quantity
  • Columns = Stock & Sides
  • Tabs = Paper Size

Example:

  • Quantity = 500
  • Stock & Sides = 100lb Gloss / Double-Sided
  • Size = 8.5x11 Brochure

The combination of these three selections determines the final price.

Step 7 – Populate Grid Pricing Data
  1. Enter pricing manually into the grid cells.
  2. Alternatively, export the grid for bulk editing.

To manage large price lists:

  1. Export the grid.
  2. Populate pricing within a spreadsheet.
  3. Save the file.
  4. Import the completed grid back into shopVOX.

This workflow is often faster when configuring a large number of brochure combinations.

Step 8 – Test Pricing Using Check Pricing
  1. Switch to the Check Pricing tab.
  2. Select the desired options:
    • Quantity Set
    • Stock & Sides
    • Paper Size
  3. Review the calculated price.

The interface allows users to quickly verify pricing without creating a quote.

Step 9 – Use Quantity Multipliers on Quotes
  1. Notice the additional Quantity field available during quoting.
  2. Select a brochure set from the grid.
  3. Enter the number of sets being purchased.

Example:

  • Selected Set = 250 Brochures
  • Quantity = 4

The customer is purchasing:

  • 4 sets of 250 brochures
  • Total Quantity = 1,000 brochures

This provides flexibility while still maintaining the simplicity of set-based pricing.

Notes & Tips

🔹 Tip: Use Grid Products when your pricing already exists in a spreadsheet or vendor price list.

🔹 Tip: Exporting and importing the grid is often faster than manually entering large pricing tables.

🔹 Tip: A 3D grid is ideal when pricing depends on three separate variables, such as quantity, stock type, and finished size.

⚠️ Warning: Be sure to understand whether your product uses set quantities or quantity breakpoints, as they calculate differently.

⚠️ Warning: If pricing updates are made in a spreadsheet, verify all imported values after re-importing the grid.

⚠️ Warning: Changes made in Configure Pricing can impact all future quotes created with the product.
