Product Template - Add New Defualt Items Configuration Window

This article provides a technical description of the options available when creating a new Default Item in shopVOX. To fully benefit from this guide, it is recommended to familiarize yourself with products and product templates. During custom product development, you will encounter modifiers, drop-down menus, and default items. The following sections define the options available when adding a drop-down menu.

  1. From Settings/ Products/ "+Add New Product"
  2. Select "Create a new Custom Product"
  3. Fill in the details, ensuring the interface is set to "Custom"
  4. Ensure "Add Product Template" is checked
  5. Scrolling down to the Product Template, a click "+Add new Dropdown Menu"
  6. This is the Add New Default Item Menu screen below is you will find definitions for all of the options

    Item Type:
    • Options: Labor Rate, Machine Rate, Material
    • Description: Select the type of item that the default item will contain. This determines the context in which the default item will be used.
    Item Sub Type (When Item is Material):
    • Description: Specify the type of material. This could be categories such as Vinyl, Aluminum, Paper, etc.
    • Example: "Vinyl" or "Paper"
    Item Category (When Item is Material):
    • Description: Further categorize the material type. This can help in more specific classifications.
    • Example: "Adhesive Vinyl" or "Matte Paper"
    Item Material (When Item is Material):
    • Description: Specify the specific material within the sub-type. This provides detailed information about the material used.
    • Example: "3MGraphic Film" or "Oracal 651"
    Formula:
    • Description: Choose a system formula that will be applied to the selected items. System formulas automate calculations based on predefined logic.
    • Example: A formula for calculating the cost based on area.
    Per LI Unit:
    • Description: Specifies that the charge is based on the quantity ordered. When this option is selected, the total charge of the default item single price will be multiplied by the quantity of items being purchased. For example, if a customer is buying two banners, the total charge of this default item single price would be multiplied by two.
    • Example: If the charge is $5 per unit and a customer orders two units, the total charge will be $10.
    Include in Base Price:
    • Description: Determine if the item selected from this default item should be included in the base price of the product or service.
    • Example: Check this box to include it.
    Percentage of Base:
    • Description: Set a percentage value that will be applied to the base price. This field will only work if the system formula "PBase" is selected and there are items with the "Include in Base Price" checkbox selected.
    • Example: "10%" will add 10% of the base price as an additional charge.
    Multiplier:
    • Description: A factor by which the item’s value will be multiplied.
    • Example: "1.5" to increase the price by 50%.
    Modifier - Attach to a Numeric Modifier:
    • Description: Attach the item to a numeric modifier, which can adjust the price based on numeric values.
    • Example: Attaching a material cost to the square footage.
    Modifier - Attach to a Checkbox Modifier:
    • Description: Attach the item to a checkbox modifier to include additional costs or features based on whether a checkbox is selected.
    • Example: "Add rush fee if checked."
    Custom Modifier - Attach to a Numeric Modifier:
    • Description: Similar to the standard numeric modifier, but allows for custom logic.
    • Example: A custom formula based on specific user input.
    Custom Modifier - Attach to a Checkbox Modifier:
    • Description: Similar to the standard checkbox modifier, but allows for custom logic.
    • Example: "(width >= 20)"
