Steps

Step 1 – Open the Flyer with BOM Product
  1. Navigate to Settings → Products.
  2. Locate and open Flyer with Bill of Materials (BOM).
  3. Review the product configuration page.

This product contains the components that drive flyer pricing and production calculations.

Step 2 – Configure Click Charges
  1. Locate the Click Charge section.
  2. Select one of the existing click charge options.
  3. Edit an existing click charge if you need different rates.
  4. Enter your meter rates for:
    • Black & White Printing
    • Color Printing
  5. Create additional click charges if your business operates multiple printers or pricing structures.

Click charges represent the printing cost applied to each sheet or printed side.

Step 3 – Configure Paper Stock Options
  1. Locate the Paper Stock section.
  2. Review the available paper sizes.
  3. Click the Edit (Pencil) Icon to modify:
    • Paper name
    • Cost
    • Pricing
    • Dimensions
  4. To create a new stock, copy an existing paper stock with matching dimensions and modify as needed.

⚠️ Warning: Paper dimensions are critical because the system uses them to determine how many flyers can fit on each sheet.

Step 4 – Review Default Pricing Components
  1. Scroll to the Default Items section.
  2. Review any existing cost components such as:
    • Packaging Costs
    • Machine Run Charges
    • Rush Charges
    • Additional Service Fees
  3. Edit these values to reflect your production environment and pricing strategy.

These default items are automatically applied when applicable.

Step 5 – Test the Product Using Check Pricing
  1. Click Check Pricing.
  2. Enter the flyer specifications:
    • Width
    • Height
    • Bleed
    • Quantity
  3. Select the appropriate:
    • Click Charge
    • Paper Stock
  4. Review optional settings such as:
    • Double Sided
    • Special Colors
    • Cutting
    • Rush Charges
  5. Add instructions if needed.

The Check Pricing screen acts as a testing environment where you can validate your calculations before using the product on a quote.

Step 6 – Review the Pricing Breakdown
  1. Open the Pricing Breakdown view.
  2. Collapse the left-side navigation panel if needed for better visibility.
  3. Review how the estimate was calculated.

The pricing breakdown displays individual cost contributors including:

  • Paper Stock
  • Click Charges
  • Packaging Costs
  • Machine Charges
  • Additional Fees
  • Default Items

Any optional component that was not selected will display with a zero value and will not be included in the final price.

Step 7 – Understand the Rotate 90 Option
  1. Locate the Rotate 90 checkbox.
  2. Enable or disable the option.
  3. Observe how the system recalculates sheet usage.

The Rotate 90 option determines how the flyer is imposed on the parent sheet.

Example:

  • 100 flyers on an 11" × 17" sheet may require only 50 sheets when positioned efficiently.
  • Rotating the flyer could increase usage to 100 sheets if the orientation is less efficient.

The system automatically evaluates the layout and calculates the required sheet count based on the orientation selected.

100 prints of 9x8 on 11x17 = 50 sheets Vs. Rotate 90: 100 prints of 9x8 on 11x17 = 100 sheets

Notes & Tips

🔹 Tip: Use Check Pricing whenever you make changes to click charges, paper stocks, or default items to verify your calculations.

🔹 Tip: Keep paper dimensions accurate. Incorrect dimensions can lead to inaccurate sheet calculations and pricing.

🔹 Tip: Create separate click charges for different printers, presses, or print quality settings if production costs vary.

⚠️ Warning: Copy paper stocks only from items with matching sheet dimensions. Changing dimensions unintentionally can affect imposition calculations.

⚠️ Warning: Rotate 90 can significantly change material usage. Always verify the resulting sheet count before publishing pricing.

⚠️ Warning: Optional charges such as rush fees, cutting, or special colors only apply when their corresponding options are selected.
