Hex Color file to match PMS color chart

Hexadecimal Colors - What are they? How can I use them in shopVOX?

Designers and developers use HEX colors in web design. A HEX color is expressed as a six-digit combination of numbers and letters defined by its mix of red, green and blue (RGB). Basically, a HEX color code is shorthand for its RGB values with a little conversion in between.

So what does that mean in shopVOX terms?

There are several areas in shopVOX where you can add colors to help create a color code key that works for your team.

  • Users can have a specific color that would correlate with the Shop Scheduler.
  • Machines can have a specific color as well.
  • Workflow templates and Steps within your Workflow templates can have colors - these can also be a color key for your Shop Scheduler or Shop Calendar
  • Within Products, you might also like to have a color key for Paint, Threads, Materials, etc. - these can be created as selections in a drop-down lists in Custom fields on a Product.

Most everyone in the Graphics industry is familiar with Pantone or PMS color charts.  This chart is used all the time to match a customer's Corporate colors or a material that is used in Signs or Apparel.   We have a chart and it matches the Hex# chart, so you can use specific colors within shopVOX to create a drop-down Custom field to match a specific list of materials.

Here is the Conversion file from PMS to Hex

We have created a file with all the PMS colors and the corresponding Hex#s.  You can download the Excel file here... click here.
