Thu, 05/09/2024 Dynamic Customer Identification in PDFs

Tyler MacDonald Updated by Tyler MacDonald

When entering text into fields like "Quote For," "Sales Order For," or "Invoice To," that information replaces the customer's name in the PDF's "ordered by" section. For example, if a customer named "Lanco" has a quote for a project called "Hyd Building," typing "Hyd Building" in the "Quote For" field ensures it appears under "ordered by" in the PDF. This lets users customize how the customer's identity is presented in the document beyond the traditional company name field, enhancing clarity and efficiency in communication and workflow.A couple examples when this is useful are as follows:

  • Say your customer is a Property Management company, but they want the invoices to be addressed to the end client who owns the property who will be paying the bill.
  • Another use case is if your customer is an Advertising Agency and they want the invoice to be addressed to the end client whose work they are doing.
