Steps

Step 1 – Open the Posters Digital Gloss Product
  1. Navigate to Settings → Products.
  2. Locate and select Posters Digital Gloss.
  3. Open the product and review the Configure Pricing page.

The Posters Digital Gloss product uses a Grid UI (Grid User Interface), which functions as a spreadsheet for managing pricing.

Step 2 – Review the Pricing Grid Structure
  1. Open the Configure Pricing section.
  2. Verify that the product is configured as a 3D Grid.
  3. Review the available pricing data displayed in the spreadsheet.

This product uses three pricing variables:

  • Quantity (Rows)
  • Stock & Sides (Columns)
  • Size (Tabs)

Each unique combination retrieves a specific price from the pricing grid.

Step 3 – Understand Cost and Price Columns
  1. Enable the Show Cost Column option if needed.
  2. Review the Cost Column values.
  3. Review the Unit Price Column values.

The columns serve different purposes:

  • Cost Column = Internal production cost.
  • Unit Price Column = Customer-facing selling price.

Maintaining both values helps ensure profitability and pricing consistency.

Step 4 – Review Quantity Breakpoints
  1. Locate the Use Quantity Breakpoints checkbox.
  2. Determine how the product is sold.

Quantity Breakpoints are designed for products sold individually, such as:

  • 1 unit
  • 2 units
  • 3 units

Because posters are typically sold in quantity sets such as:

  • 50
  • 100
  • 250
  • 500

the Use Quantity Breakpoints option is generally not used for this product.

Step 5 – Update Pricing Values
  1. Locate the desired quantity row.
  2. Select the appropriate stock column.
  3. Open the correct size tab.
  4. Enter or modify the pricing values.
  5. Save your changes.

Each cell represents a specific combination of:

  • Quantity
  • Stock & Sides
  • Poster Size

Updating the cell will modify the quoted price for that combination.

Step 6 – Export and Import Pricing
  1. Click Export Grid.
  2. Download the generated CSV file.
  3. Open the file in Excel.
  4. Update cost and pricing information as needed.
  5. Save the file.
  6. Import the updated CSV into shopVOX.

This method is typically faster and more efficient when updating large numbers of pricing records.

Step 7 – Add Additional Poster Sizes
  1. Navigate to the size tabs within the pricing grid.
  2. Click Add New Size.
  3. Enter the new poster dimensions.
  4. Save the new size option.
  5. Populate pricing for the newly added size.

Example:

  • 11" × 17"
  • 22" × 28"
  • Additional custom poster sizes

Each size creates a separate pricing tab within the grid.

  1. Additional Stock and Sides and Qty sets can be added as well, using the green Add New buttons for each option

NOTE: In the image below, the Stock and Side - Add new button is not shown. It would be to far right and is visible when using the slider bar to scroll to the right side of the spreadsheet.

Step 8 – Verify Pricing Using Check Pricing
  1. Click Check Pricing.
  2. Select a Quantity.
  3. Select a Stock & Sides option.
  4. Select a Size.
  5. Review the calculated selling price.

Example:

  • Quantity: 100
  • Stock & Sides: 100 lb Gloss Cover
  • Size: 11" × 17"

The system retrieves the matching value from the pricing grid and displays the corresponding customer price.

Notes & Tips

🔹 Tip: Use the CSV export/import process when updating numerous pricing combinations. It is significantly faster than editing individual cells manually.

🔹 Tip: Keep the Cost Column updated to ensure accurate margin analysis and profitability tracking.

🔹 Tip: Add additional size tabs when expanding your poster offerings instead of creating entirely new products.

⚠️ Warning: Quantity Breakpoints are generally unnecessary for poster products that are sold in quantity sets rather than individual units.

⚠️ Warning: Importing a CSV file will overwrite existing pricing data. Always save a backup before importing large pricing updates.

⚠️ Warning: After making pricing changes, use Check Pricing to verify that all values are returning correctly.
